North Cyprus is described as the last unspoiled paradise in the Mediterranean, "A corner of earth touched by Heaven". Untouched and unchanged, visiting the island gives the opportunity to experience a Mediterranean island largely by-passed by the modern world, while offering all that a visitor could require. Along the northern coast stretch the pine-clad Kyrenia Mountains sloping gently to the warm and tranquil waters of the Mediterranean. With its breath taking views of the mountains and coastline, anybody coming to Girne (Kyrenia) will appreciate its natural beauty.
Numerous sandy beaches are scattered along the coast and there is an abundance of natural life. North Cyprus is the primary nesting site of the Caretta-caretta sea turtle where there are some 65 beaches known to be nesting sites. Bathing is safe, there being very little by way of tide, and underwater visibility is over 30 metres. Boasting almost year-long sunshine, it is an excellent holiday destination.
Nightlife is relaxing; dining out in Girne is an affordable pleasure with numerous harbour side restaurants and bars offering a wide variety of food, a meal rarely costing more than £10.00 per head including drinks. Seafood is excellent being locally caught, but especially try the Turkish Cypriot Mezes; a real delight. There are no noisy night clubs in Kyrenia, no lager louts to ruin your holiday, guaranteeing a peaceful and relaxing time.

In the smaller back streets you can find superb bistros and bars and for the more adventurous there are many smaller lively Turkish restaurants and coffee shops where you can dine for £5.00 to £10.00 each and really experience Cypriot hospitality at it's best. English is widely spoken and Sterling is readily accepted with many places advertising their prices in Pounds.
British people are welcomed with typical Turkish Cypriot hospitality. The people are warm and generous, and are keen to see that the visitor enjoys their visit. Many people who visit the island on holiday fall in love with it and some decide to live out there. With the low cost of living, North Cyprus is an affordable place to live.
The diving is based at Sunset beach (about 4 miles or so from Girne) and all open water dives are made from a boat. The dive centre has many years experience and is a PADI and BSAC training centre. Besides offering a range of courses, they also have a lot of knowledge of the area where there are many interesting sites to explore, including the oldest wreck ever found. The diving centre works from the best location in North Cyprus for diving, much envied by other diving companies. The beach is sandy and has a bar, restaurant, toilets and showers, and is ideal for non divers as well.
